Over the past year, I’ve posted each month about the 58: Global Impact Tour. Maybe you skipped over them, but maybe they in some way they contributed to building awareness about global poverty and how we can make a difference.

This year, our first, we’ve come a long way. Live58: has grown from a movement of just a handful to a movement of over 10,000 people, who are living out the call of Isaiah 58: by giving, praying and fasting. We’ve raised over $250,000 for poverty fighting projects in 11 different countries, working with an alliance of 10 partners. And we couldn’t have done it without you. As we prepare to enter 2013, we are poised to see our message of the True Fast of Isaiah 58 and the encouraging news of the end of extreme poverty reach more people than ever. — 58:

Even though the tour is wrapping up, I plan to continue to write on this blog about local and global hunger.

In January, Lord willing, I will be traveling to Nigeria. In March, my husband will be accompanying me (for the first time) to Guatemala. I hope to share with you the ways in which people in developing countries are learning how to farm with organic methods, not because it’s the trendy thing to do but because it’s how they are able to feed their families.

To experience just a glimpse of what it is like, visit the Survive 125 online simulation.

Disclosure: This post has not been compensated in any way, however I do work for one of the organizations that is part of this initiative.
