Dear Readers,
I just want to give you a heads up. I am not feeling confident in my ability to finish all the recipes in Simply in Season by the end of August. It’s not all about time, which is indeed pressing, but it has to do with the availability of vegetables.
You see, I originally (probably naively) thought that the vegetables I would get in my CSA would magically match up with the ingredients needed in the Simply in Season recipes. Alas, I have too much kale and not enough tomatoes. Rather than have my kale go to waste, I will eat it and blog the recipes even if they’re not from Simply in Season. To do otherwise would not be good stewardship.
And so I’m making an executive decision. My first priority will be not to let my CSA food go to waste. My second will be to finish the recipes-which means my timeline will probably be extended. But the purpose remains the same–to spread the message that there are many benefits to eating locally, and to help people make the most of their CSA share.
Hopefully you won’t be too disappointed in the likely event that I won’t finish on time. Then again, you just might thank me because you too might be swimming in greens!

TOO MUCH KALE??? There’s no such thing 🙂 I’m so addicted to kale, I put it in everything. And these days, we haven’t gotten any greens from the CSA, so I have to buy my kale in those big ol’ bags from the supermarket. I wish I had really fresh local kale……sigh…..I’m going to try growing my own though. Let’s see how that goes!
