Even though the autumnal equinox isn’t for another couple of weeks, it feels like summer is over. Pumpkins and pears have arrived at the farmers market. There are chilly days when one turns off the air conditioner and reaches for a sweater. My friends and family who have children are simultaneously joyful and sad about their children returning to school. My self-imposed ban on work travel is ending this week as I head out to New Orleans.
It was fun while it lasted. Truly. But part of me is ready to be done with the weeding that never seems to get done. The onslaught of CSA vegetables that are more often juiced than cooked. The smell of leaves in the air that beckon me to go for a run.
There’s something about the season that signals new beginnings.
“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.”

During a recent session with my health coach, I asked myself if there was anything I need to let go of in order to move forward.
To everything – turn, turn, turn
There is a season – turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heavenA time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together~ The Byrds
One of the things that I’ve decided I need to let go of is the idea of what this blog was, so that it can become more of what I want it to be. Something more fulfilling.
I decided to change the format up – in addition to changing the design and theme, I will be posting a bit more often, but sometimes it will be art or quotes or photos. More focused on life and a little less focused on food.
What's on your mind?
