I’m writing this post especially for my friend Jill’s Things I Love Thursday linky party over at The Diaper Diaries. These are things I HOPE to love, and which I’ll be road testing on my trip to Uganda. Of course I’ll be doing full reviews on my return.
First up is the Macabi Skirt. The photo is NOT of me (I wish I had a waist that small!). It’s super cool, and they gave me a free sample to try on my trip. It has a pant clip and wading snaps, but they look kind of dorky so I probably won’t be using those features unless we have to cross a river or something. DH also says it looks like I’m wearing a tent, but hopefully after a little breaking in it will be a bit less tent-like. It’s lightweight and comfortable, packs up light and dries overnight.
Disposable Underwear.
I actually bought some underwear that dries overnight too. Two of them on clearance at Sierra Trading Post, but they sold out and I started to think that it would get tiresome washing my underwear every single night in the sink. So I decided to give these disposables a try. I wore a pair as a test one day at work, and they were not as uncomfortable as you might think.
Nook.
I bought the black & white version for the extended battery life (I have two eight hour flights ahead!). I loaded all the ebooks that I have to review on it and am good to go! I also downloaded a few novels. I can only read about cooking for so long at one time 🙂
I couldn’t get the photo to download correctly, so I’ll have to post a photo when I use it. The reason I’m so excited about this is that a friend of mine is now selling these to help people start water filter businesses in developing countries. Many of my co-workers swear by it. They still buy bottled water in the field because sometimes you really need something cold to drink, but you don’t have to bring gallons and gallons of water in the truck because this makes any water drinkable. I never use tap water for brushing my teeth when I’m in a developing country, for example, but it seems a waste to use bottled water for stuff like that.
Magellan’s World Time Alarm Clock
For 10 bucks, I figure I can’t go wrong. I need a flashlight. I need an alarm clock. So why not pack one thing?
Anything you can’t live without when you travel?

For me, it would have to be my iPad. It’s my entire life – entertainment, blogging, email, photos – rolled up in one neat package. Have a safe trip. Looks like you’re well prepared!!
