Remember the squash that I cooked in the slow cooker the other day? This recipe used up about 3/4 C of it. Yes, it uses white sugar and white flour. So I'm not linking it up to any of the "real food" linky parties. But it is sooo good.
When I saw this recipe in last year’s Mother Earth News, I knew I wanted to give it a try. A year later, I finally got around to it.
I'm sure many people buck the green bean casserole trend; unfortunately, my family is not among them. Even DH, who has admittedly become quite a bit more crunchy along with me over the past couple of years, puts his foot down when it comes to what to make his family for Thanksgiving. And so, I can only imagine, what I would serve if the menu were completely up to me.
Despite many screw ups and experiments on my part, this recipe from The Food Matters Cookbook turned out great!
