It has been strangely hot here in Michigan; it is not normally 80 degrees in March. Even though I’ve been fighting off a bad cold, my yard has been calling me to wander.
I’m not sure what these little white flowers are. Snowbells? Miniature albino daffodils? Whatever, they have appeared in my yard overnight. My regular daffodils are blooming too. And then . . .
Violets, everywhere! Makes me glad I sort of let the area along my back fence get a bit “wild.” Now I can pick violets for syrup, jelly, and whatever else strikes my fancy.
Of course, I SHOULD be starting the seeds for my real garden. The one that I will be adding to again this year. I thought last year’s was a failure. I planted the “fall” garden way too late and nothing happened. Except . . .
Who’d a thunk it? After laying dormant all winter, the kale has sprung to life. Those little seeds were under there the whole time, just waiting for an opportune moment to surprise me.
Oh, and in case you haven’t stopped by the blog in awhile – if you’ve been getting email updates – you might want to see the spring cleaning and makeover I’ve been doing.
Is it spring where you are?
