Ingredients
Filling
- 8 cups apples, peeled and sliced (Granny Smith, Cortland, or Jonathan)
- 2 Tbs lemon juice
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup ice water
Crust
Instructions
- 1. Mix filling ingredients.
- 2. Cut butter into flour and salt, add ice water. Roll out into two crusts. Put one on the bottom of the pie plate, add filling, and top with another crust.
- 3. Bake in a preheated oven at 450F for 15 minutes; reduce heat to 350F and bake 40-45 minutes.
