Believe it or not, DH and I use kitchen scales quite regularly. Many recipes call for ounces and pounds instead of cups, and it helps when you’re counting calories. My other scale was on its last leg, so I jumped at the opportunity to review this one.
When I opened the package, I thought it seemed a little lightweight. However, it’s not lightweight on features! The TARE works well, and it even goes up to 11 pounds, which really made DH excited because he’ll be able to measure his grains for homebrewing.
I also liked the little guide that came with it that shows the calories per gram of food; it’s a good reminder that some foods are more nutrient dense than others.

Oooo! Pick me, pick me! I have a scale that I originally got when I decided to do WW the first time. Now, I still swear by it. I use it daily for everything from weighing out my chicken that I bought in the family size down to two person manageability to the the stuff in cookbooks my sister has given to me from the UK. Problem is, it’s not digital. I would LOVE to have a digital one for more accuracey when baking and such.
Wow…what an incredible giveaway ! I’d love to have a digital kitchen scale, especially when I make bread…I think weighing flour for baking is supposed to be so much more accurate. I also own Simply in Season ( and 1 of their previous books) and think it is great for seasonal cooking. There is a recipe for pear custard bars that is wonderful and no better time of year than now to make them ! You’ll have to try them if you haven’t already !

I’d love a scale like this. In fact, it’s on my Christmas list. I’ve discovered that so many of the canning recipes call for X lbs of _____, and then I have to google approximately how many ______ are in a pound. A scale would make it so much simpler.
