So, how did last week go? Once again I was overambitious. But I am learning what is realistic so I’m getting closer! I am proud of the fact that we only got takeout once last week. And, despite my lack of exercise and reporting only half a pound lost on Friday, I suddenly dropped two more pounds – woo hoo!
Menu Plan
Breakfasts: Oatmeal or homemade granola bars
Snacks: Oranges, grapefruit, Skinny Cows
Lunches: Leftovers or Lean Cuisine
Dinners: (Check back later for recipes)
Monday – Carrot-ginger soup and the Tilapia Citrus Couscous Salad that I didn’t get around to making last week. Or the week before. Do you ever have those recipes that you never seem to get made, even though you have all the ingredients? I feel sort of bad for them.
Tuesday – Eating out as I have a Nourishing Ways workshop on how to cut up a whole chicken. Believe it or not, I’m quite excited about this!
Wednesday – Chicken and root vegetables in the pressure cooker.
Thursday – Eating out as I have a Slow Food meeting.
Weekend – we’ll see
Workout Schedule
Move over RevAbs, I’m reviewing The Firm Express.
I just received a set of The Firm Express workout DVDs to review on my blog. The theory is that you can work out only 20 minutes three times a week and still see results. Should be interesting! I also bought a Bodymedia Fit armband which should tell me how many calories I’m burning. Lucky me I don’t have anything going on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday evenings so that’s when I’ll do the workouts.
Homekeeping Plan
As you can see I have quite a busy week ahead of me. So here’s what I’m scheduling myself to do:
Monday – pick up a few groceries
Wednesday – organize the small appliances pantry
Weekend – get caught up on book reviews that are behind

I would be totally pumped to learn how to cut up a chicken! I usually make the husband do it, despite his lack of skill as well.
I’ve got plans to go out to a couple of sweet restaurants in the next two weeks here – Ann Arbor Restaurant Week and our wedding anniversary just happen to overlap by one day!

oh fun! I was so bummed to miss the Grand Rapids restaurant week because I was out of town for work. Hope you have a great anniversary!

I love that you plan your workouts and cleaning as well as your menu. I might have to add that to my schedule as well, maybe it will get me to the gym more often!
The Local Cook
Yeah, if I don’t plan everything at once it just doesn’t get done! Plus it helps me figure out when during the week I’ll have time for meals that take a bit longer to cook.

I need to sit down and make a plan! Enjoyed reading about yours!

Last week I did okay, but this week has been off a bit. I did add walking in but I didn’t hit the treadmill for 45 minutes like I planned. Looks like I’m stuck at the 30 minute marker. I also didn’t get to watch my video yesterday, hoping to today. I think as long as we make an effort it’ll eventually move into a routine…I hope anyways. But losing weight is great! Way to go. 🙂 Keep it up.

yes, it’s an ongoing journey! Been thinking about what happens when the 31 days is up . . . how can we keep the momentum going?
