You might have noticed the new feature on my website front page called “Latest Video.” The latest video is of my garden titled “You see weeds, I see possibilities.” I’m really excited about finally being comfortable with editing videos – thanks to muvee!
I’ve had to do videos for campaigns before, and I don’t mind being in front of the camera, but before muvee came along I struggled with various free editing software. Now, making movies is super easy. If you check out my video using the link above, you can see the others I’ve uploaded to YouTube – a video that I made for my organization to play in the background of a fundraising dinner, and a cooking video that I made for a chicken campaign. I love that you can use either photos and/or video, and it adds the music in the background for you. I see many videos in my future – I hope you will consider subscribing to me on YouTube.
The Giveaway
Muvee provided me with a complimentary review copy of their software. While it was a little buggy
(I had to learn to play the movie all the way through, then save the movie before trying to upload it!) it is overall quite awesome. They’ve offered to give away a copy of the Reveal X software to one of my lucky readers! (A $59 value!)
To enter, simply comment below saying what you’d like to make a movie of (let’s keep it clean, this is a family blog!) 🙂
Entries will be accepted until Monday, June 11, 2012, midnight EST. If you don’t win, you can still get a deal – a free StylePack ($14.95 value) with purchase.
One entry per person. Good luck!

That is such a great idea for planting herbs! I’m definitely doing that the next time I plant some. And I think I’d make a movie of the shenanigans my dog and five cats get up to. I mean, animals videos never get old, right? 🙂

I would like to make a movie of my girls 13th bday party. She could save it for later in life. I think its a neat idea instead of the traditional video

Fun garden tour! Yes, that does look like a fern; my guess is Ostrich Fern. If “happy,” they increase by runners fairly rapidly. Knowing your interest in “indigenous food,” it may be worth mentioning that fiddleheads, the new growth of various ferns (I think Ostrich among them), are considered quite the spring delicacy. You might not want ferns in the midst of a dedicated food plot, but if moved to a shady spot for “decoration,” they might provide an occasional spring treat once they colonize. (It’s a culling process, of course: anything harvested for culinary use is done growing. Cutting out needs to be balanced aganst fuure growth of the colony. However, 10 years down the road from when we first put them in alongside the bottom pond, we are now transplanting “wanderers” to other spots along the edge of the woods and “donating” them to our garden club plant sale just to keep them in check a little. One of these years, I really should remember to catch them at fiddlehead stage and experiment a bit…)

Any or all family get togethers, time goes by so fast, I want to preserve memories

What a great idea! They are usually so slow to come up and the weeds are so fast! I don’t know why I didn’t think of this.

I take my daughter and nephew on small road trips to bizarre places- abandoned turnpikes, abandoned amusement parks, giant tea pots- I would love to make a movie of these trips.

We would love to win this movie editing software. We’re in the middle of a teen project with our Community Garden. This week we went over and worked in the garden. While the teens were planting, hoeing and dousing each other with the hose we were filming them. Next week we plan on making a commercial to help promote our Community Garden and try to get the word out! Currently we just have the free movie editing software and it’s not easy to use. So hey, pick us pick us!!!
