I am itchin’ to get back into the kitchen! When I look at my blog I think my goodness, I haven’t posted in awhile. I mean recipes. Just so you know I’m not slacking, I thought I’d provide a glimpse into the past two weeks:
Monday (Nov 1): My assistant picked me up from my house so I wouldn’t have to leave my car at the airport. Had an 8 AM meeting with a Ugandan field staff before I left so that I could brief him on the partnership meetings he was facilitating for me in Connecticut the following weekend. Assistant brought me to the airport and I was off to Los Angeles. Managed to find the hotel.
Tuesday: Drove about an hour east of Los Angeles for meetings, then back to LA for a presentation.
Wednesday: Breakfast meetings in the morning, drove down to San Diego for more meetings.
Thursday: Flew to San Francisco, drove to Escalon for meetings, and got back to San Francisco around 9 PM. Discovered that the hotel for the FoodBuzz Festival was downtown. Dodged trolleys, cyclists, and drunks while trying to figure out where to park. Decided to just use the valet.
Friday: Drove down to Palo Alto for meetings. Searched all over for Pliney the Elder beer for DH, then drove back to San Fran for the FoodBuzz Street Fare.
Saturday: FoodBuzz conference, then took the red eye from SFO to GRR.
Sunday: Arrived about 10 AM after the red eye, DH picked me up at the airport, we went out for brunch, and he dropped me back off at the airport so I could fly down to New Orleans for board meetings.
Monday: Board meetings.
Tuesday: Site visits for Hurricane Katrina reconstruction, then took a late flight home. DH picked me up from the airport at 11 PM.
Wednesday: Slept in and tried to catch up on emails, got the milk jars washed and brought to my friend whose turn it was to pick up the milk, when she dropped it off I brought my other friend’s share to her. Decided I was too tired to cook so we got Papa Murphy’s.
Thursday (today): Meetings all day, work event tonight, then meetings for most of tomorrow. Hoping to go out to eat with DH on Friday as he’s leaving for deer camp on Saturday.
With DH out of town next week, I hope to catch up on housecleaning and COOKING. Especially some of the vegetarian recipes from Simply in Season as DH is grumpy if there’s no meat for dinner.
See you next week!
