Some women joke about how their men don’t know their way around the kitchen and eat pizza while they are away. Not DH. He definitely knows his way around the kitchen, but for some reason he cooks the most when I’m away. This weekend I spent most of my time at a blogger retreat called Gleek Retreat. It was super fun and I learned a ton. I came home to discover DH had been in the kitchen again. Why doesn’t he cook like that for ME anymore? (OK, whine over). I’ll let you tell him about it in his own words.
The wife is out of town for a bloggers retreat so I’m left to fend for myself.
Fish grilled on the SRG (Smoker Roaster Grill) sounded like just the thing. Pulled out some Mahi Mahi from the freezer and did a “quick thaw” in some warm water.
Fired up the SRG on high and lid closed.
Now I have actually never had this fish before so I had no idea what to do with it or how it would taste.
While the grill was warming up I mixed up a bowl of Soy Sauce (reduced sodium) some black pepper, garlic powder, dried chives and oregano. Put the fish in it to soak while the grill was doing it’s thing.
Then after about 5-6 minutes I flipped them.
another 4 minutes on the 2nd side and dinner was on.
I have to say it was AMAZING. Can’t wait to gill up some more.
This post linked to Gratituesday, because I am SO thankful that I have such a great husband!

These look so good! I wish I had a grill. I might have to make more friends with grills this summer!

Mmm. Can he give my husband some lessons?? My husband is more than willing to help – and I am so grateful for that! – but doesn’t yet have many kitchen skills beyond being blessed dishwasher extraordinaire.
