I’m sure many of us are thinking about weight loss in the New Year, so I signed up to review Cinch!: Conquer Cravings, Drop Pounds, and Lose Inches by Cynthia Sass through the One2One Network.
I’m sure you want me to get right down to the pros and cons. So here it is:
What I appreciated: Emphasis on organic, natural food, in season. Does touch on the emotional and exercise components of losing weight. Provides a good foundation for meal planning in a healthy manner.
What I didn’t like: Emphasis on low fat dairy (those of us who make our own dairy products with raw milk have a hard time with that). The 5 day fast forward requires fresh raspberries and spinach (what happened to in-season?) and nonfat yogurt (what happened to natural food?). Also, absolutely no alcohol is allowed, which is good for weight loss but for someone like me who is married to a homebrewer it is just not realistic.
The Verdict: Not my cup of tea, but if you follow it you would probably lose weight. Everyone has different approaches, and it just doesn’t fit enough of my priorities (in season, whole foods, alcohol in moderation) to be something I’d try.
