Farm to glass is a huge trend, but I am never quite sure what to do with spirits. So when Prairie Organic Spirits sent me some recipes and invited me to share them with my readers, I was more than happy to oblige.
My pick for the season is the Appletini. It’s cider, doughnuts, and hayride time here in Michigan and this seems to be the perfect complement. I love that Prairie Organic Spirits are made with organic corn that is grown at three family-owned and operated Midwest farms. After harvesting, the crop is brought to a nearby farmer-owned distillery where it is handcrafted into some of the world’s best tasting spirits.
The Recipe:
2 oz Prairie Organic Gin
2 oz Fresh Apple Cider
1/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 oz *Simple Syrup
*Simple Syrup -1 part water & 2 parts organic cane sugar brought to a boil in a sauce pan and cooled
Directions: Shake with ice and strain over fresh ice. Garnish with an apple slice or cinnamon stick.
