Yesterday was a foraging day for my husband and me. He took his Jeep out in nearby woods, and I went to a foraging class at The Urban Ranch. Maybe that means we're getting old--DH's friend pointed out on Facebook that "your old offroad pictures were less mushrooms more air."
OK so I may need to work on preventing the cracking thing going on, but I'm really proud of myself for making evergreen balm from blue spruce needles that I harvested myself!
It's surprising to me that so many people at work commented on the jar of tea that I was keeping on my desk. I guess I've been so immersed in learning about herbalism that I forget it's not "normal" for most people to mix their own teas.
In yesterday's herbal class at the Urban Ranch, I learned that you can make tea from pine trees! Not only is it rather tasty, but it has some healing properties as well.
