Are you ready to find simple ways to #AddJoy? I know I am! One piece of the challenge is to use the list above and share a photo with that theme on social media. These can be new photos or old ones that you have taken previously. Remember, we are adding joy, not extra work and guilt!
You might want to save the above photo to your phone for easy reference.
You can also write the prompts into your calendar. Whatever way works for you!
What do I do with the photo once I take it?
Once you’ve identified or taken a photo that goes with the theme, feel free to share it in our Facebook group, on Twitter, or Instagram! Part of the fun is seeing what other people come up with for the same theme. Make it easier for people to find your photos by tagging them with the hashtag #AddJoy (not sure how? Click here to find out how to add hashtags on Instagram). If you’re new to Instagram, visit the Instagram blog for help getting started.
What’s the point in photo a day challenges?
I’ve written before about how photo a day challenges help me pay attention and look for photo opportunities.

Another benefit is that they can challenge you to do a specific activity (such as yoga poses each day, fitness challenges, or in this case . . . #AddJoy!)
If you share and participate on Instagram, they can also help you find other Instagrammers with similar interests. During this challenge, you can search for all the cool people who are using the hashtag #AddJoy. If they have interesting photos, feel free to follow them!

Can photo a day challenges help me grow my number of Instagram followers?
Absolutely! Photo a day challenges can really help with posting consistency, which translates into more followers. It can also help you find your “tribe,” those people who use similar hashtags.

I’ve done photo day challenges before.
I’ve done Project 365. Wow that was challenging, and I had to carry my camera with my EVERYWHERE which became painful after a while.
I’ve also done a Project 52, a photo a week for a year.
Occasionally I’ve done 30 day challenges.
Then there were 100happydays.
All these challenges made me really think about my environment, and how it was usually the little things that I found the greatest joy.

I have always thought it would be fun to do Project 365, but I know I would never do every single day and that would drive me crazy
