This is my current photo. I’m only down 8 pounds, so I don’t think it looks that different from the “before.” Plus DH wouldn’t get up from watching TV to take a decent picture so the angle is a bit weird.
Even though I’ve “only” lost 8 pounds, I am really glad I took part in this challenge. Here are the top 10 reasons:
- Lost 8 pounds!
- Discovered how supportive my readers and the other Lean 11 are. It makes a huge difference!
- Got a BodyMedia band, which in turn motivates me to get off my duff.
- Went cross country skiing for the first time and fell in love. Will check out more outdoorsy activities for sure in the coming weeks.
- Learned to just keep watching calories and activity, and eventually the scale WILL drop.
- If I can lose 8 pounds every month, I’ll be at my goal weight by the end of the year!
- Somehow agreed to do a sprint triathlon this summer with my friend Savvy Chic Savings.
- My pants are fitting now!
- I have a lot more energy, which is making me want to start getting into my sewing stash; the one that has the “good fabrics” I’ve been waiting to use until I lose weight. I deserve “good fabrics” now, dang it.
- Have developed a healthier relationship with packaged foods. I have realized that I am never going to be able to live up to my standards of cooking every single meal from scratch, so rather than finding myself out of time or ingredients I have frozen dinners and healthy snacks on hand to reduce take out and drive thru incidents.
I know I said last Friday that I was going to switch my weight loss updates on Monday, but I decided to go back to Fridays. Ha! I also have discontinued posting my menus on Mondays for awhile. Still trying to figure out an editorial calendar that works for me.
Is there anything YOU would like to see more of on this blog?

Looks awesome to me! I can definitely see you slimmer across the middle…and as that’s the area that makes me insane, in recent pictures, I’m envious. 🙂

8 pounds is great! That is 2 pounds per week. Even though we would like to lose more, we really shouldn’t be.
Thanks Wendy.. you have done great.

I love the way you think! 8 pounds is a great start and 8 pounds per month for a year getting you to your goal weight is an awesome way to think about it!!!

I forgot to tell you, also, that I found the local Slow Food group. Woo-hoo!

Hey, You go girl! 8 pounds is nothing to sneeze at! Especially when you have been working out, you know that lean muscle weighs more, so that’ probably why your clothes are feeling better.
I know you can keep it up!
You deserve those good fabrics.

Thanks! I will be posting if I get anything sewed 😀

that is funny about your hubby and his photo skills. I have very few good photos of myself all taken by my kids and a whole lot of really really really bad photos of myself taken by my hubby.
8 pounds is good, keep it going. it might feel like it is not coming off but after a few months you are going to wow yourself. I lost 35 pounds since April (I hit my goal weight in Sept.) and my mom has lost 60 pounds and she is so happy and feels great…the day before we started weight watchers she was a wreck but is so happy that she is doing it now. Mom has about another 35 pounds to go but she is well on her way a little at a time.

You did great and showed each step you did. I will be continuing on and will make sure I stop by every week to check on your progress as well. 🙂 I loved the support of the Lean 11, everyone was great and I really think it helped losing the weight. 🙂 Congratulations! I can’t wait to hear more about your triathalon.
