It’s maple syrup time here in Michigan! I saw trees tapped alongside the road the other day when I went to pick up milk from “my” farm. This Saturday I am hoping to attend a sugarbush celebration at our local nature center (if the weather is nice – hoping so!) In honor of maple syrup time, here are 10 recipes that use them (and no, it’s not just for pancakes!)
- Grilled Maple Barbecue Chicken
- Maple Walnut Scones
- Maple Glazed Parsnips
- Spicy Baked Apples
- Whipped Squash
- Savory Tempeh and Vegetables
- Pumpkin Dip
- Troy’s Oatmeal
- Raspberry or Strawberry Vinaigrette Dressing
- Butternut Bisque

I LOVE maple syrup. Last fall I had salmon with a maple and soy sauce glaze, absolutely delicious. The other recipe I can think of right now was a pear cranberry pie using maple syrup. YUM. I can’t wait to look through these recipes!

Hi Wendy! You are speaking my language with maple syrup. My husband is from sugaring country as they call central New Hampshire and we have been lucky to get the BEST home made syrup from friends up there. I adore using it in muffins but also on things like plantains and the occasional roast duck! Very cool recipes and thanks so much for sharing them on the hearth and soul hop! Big hugs! Alex
