I love reading in the summer. Something about curling up on the lawn chair in the back yard, glass of wine on the table next to me, and either a book or my phone in my hand is so relaxing.
I haven’t shared my favorite blogs in awhile, so I thought I’d do so now in case you too are in search of summer reading. These are the top most read according to my Google Reader.
#10: Michelle Schaeffer
This one is mostly how-to and inspiration for bloggers. If you have a blog, you could spend hours reading the articles–the trick is actually putting them into practice!
#9: about proximity
My co-worker’s wife writes this, and it is all manner of awesome. Her tagline is “Place yourself in the proximity of renewal. Do Justice. Love Mercy. Walk Humbly.” There are all kinds of practical tips for doing just that, as well as teaching your kids to do the same.
#8: Savvy Blogging
Yes, another blog about blogging. You’d think with all the reading I do about blogging, that my blogs would be a lot better!
I link up to Tempt My Tummy every Tuesday. I love her honesty about life and faith and I can find recipe ideas without feeling judged for using ingredients that are not, strictly speaking, “real food.”
Here’s another one with a linky party – Kitchen Tip Tuesday. Again, no judgement about the food. Nice. And, there are so many practical tips I pick up when I visit her site!
#5 Life as Mom
Yet another linky party. Actually two – Ultimate Recipe Swap and Frugal Friday. That might skew these results a bit. However, even though I am not nor ever will be a mom, I find myself reading other articles besides the linky parties. Lots of interesting tidbits here and there.
I love the gardening inspiration here, and also the recent addition of a series of losing weight with real food posts.
#3 The Kitchn
There are so many great posts here, and lots of them! So many times I get a good idea for an article, then it comes through my feed. Bah. I guess great minds think alike?
Yes, ANOTHER one about blogging! And I keep reading it, despite feeling guilty about not completing any ebooks every time I read it.
Maybe it’s because she covers a wide array of food-related issues, or because she is one of the first bloggers I met in real life (along with Donielle from Naturally Knocked Up and Katie from Kitchen Stewardship), but I find myself at her blog a lot.
So there you have it, the most popular blogs in my reader. What are YOU reading these days?

I’m not familiar with all of these — off to find new friends. 🙂
aboutproximity
I’m excited to check these out, you have great taste:)
I regularly read the local cook, moneysavingmom, thin places, and pink stripey socks. There are so many great ones out there!
Kelly the Kitchen Kop
Well aren’t you a big sweetheart!!! Thanks Wendy!
